Dear friends and members of St. Matt's,
Thank you all so much for your support and all the ways you've reached out this week. I'm so grateful. And I'm glad of your prayers and grateful for your love. Thank you.
Most of you have probably heard me say somewhere by now that one of the reasons Lyn and I chose to move to Wilton was because we wanted our kids to grow up in a church community that would love them no matter who they are. A place where they would come to know God's perfect, overwhelming, always present love in some ways because of the love they received from this community. We know this is a place that welcomes everyone, that creates community for everyone, and that prioritizes the wellbeing of all our kids, no matter who they are or what they need.
And so, I'm really excited to share with you an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of some other kids this week. When you come to the auction on Sunday, sign up to bring a Halloween costume with you for some families at Open Doors. This year, we are hosting a few families at the Halloween Parade in Wilton. And in order to make it a really special day for them, we are helping to get costumes for them. Some kids have a specific request for who they want to dress up as this year - others don't. You might have some of these in your closet that are lightly used and still look like they're ready for another fun trip out on Halloween night. You might not have them in your closet - but might feel called to go hunt one down and donate it. Either way - please help us. Donate a costume and bring it with you (to church or) to the Auction on 10/23. Help us make this a special Halloween for a family that needs some love and support. Help us make this a special day for these kids.
There are a number of other great opportunities in our e-news today, too. So, do take a look! I look forward to seeing you on Sunday. And Lyn and Laine look forward to seeing you for the first part of the auction. Oh, wait, you didn't buy your tickets yet? You can do that right here! God loves you. And so do I.
Faithfully,
--Marissa +
