Plans for Sunday

Dear friends and members of St. Matt's,
You know that saying about how God laughs when we make plans? Well it's been that kind of week, here! I hope yours has been a little more normal! One plan that has changed is our plan for Sunday, and I want to tell you a little bit about that.
As you know, I'll be in Hartford for the weekend as our new Bishop is Consecrated (Saturday) and Seated (Sunday). There are still tickets to both services if you'd like to come. You can register here. Please keep our Bishop-elect in your prayers over the course of these next few days, and in the weeks and months ahead as he steps into this new role. And let us all give thanks for the mystery that is a call from God, for the path that stretches ahead, for the ways in which God calls each one of us, and for the blessing of new beginnings.
If you aren't coming or watching the stream at home on Sunday morning, then you are invited to come to WEPCO and worship with our Presbyterian siblings in Christ across the courtyard. Andrew was planning on reading Morning Prayer and singing for you some, too. Unfortunately, he has since then tested positive for COVID. So, he won't be able to be here on Sunday. Please join me in praying for mild symptoms, rest, and recovery. On Sunday morning (10/16), please plan to come worship with the Presbyterians at 10:00am or watch the livestream here (YouTube or Facebook). I do apologize for the change in plans - and in some ways, I actually think it's a good thing.
On Saturday: if you aren't coming to the Convention Center but would like to watch the stream from home, you can find it here.
It is always a gift when we can gather with other Christians to sing and to pray. I'm grateful for the hospitality of our neighbors and for this relationship that supports us all. I hope it will be a gift to worship together on Sunday morning.
There is quite a lot to do in the coming weeks - take a careful look through our e-news this week to make sure you're not missing out on the fun. And speaking of fun, if you haven't bought your tickets for the auction yet, please do! This is always a wonderful night of fellowship and laughter for us, if you've never been before, please join us and give it a try.
As always, please be in touch if there is anything that I can do to help you. I look forward to seeing you soon.
Faithfully,
--Marissa +
