A Message from Marissa
I can't wait to introduce you to St. Matt's new Director of Children, Youth, and Family Ministries!
Samantha Trolice will join us on September 15th for our big Fall Kickoff. She will dive right in to a busy fall schedule with our children and youth. As the Director of Children, Youth, and Family ministries, Samantha will work with Nate Taylor and Julie Fowler from the WPC side to love and serve our kids and to help them know Jesus. She will also work with a team of us who will coordinate and teach Confirmation this year. And, of course, she'll serve as part of the pastoral staff at St. Matt's, which means she'll be part of the team we're assembling to care for the life of the whole community.
Samantha has a deep love of Jesus and a warm presence with kids. She will bring us a tremendous amount of energy, commitment, and a strong faith that she shares quite easily. She is collaborative, creative, and dedicated to these ministries. She will help us try on new styles of communication, new interactions with social media, and new formation opportunities with our kids. Samantha has five years of experience in the world of youth ministry, and she is ready to branch out in this role to work with our younger kids. She has a passion for empowering kids to walk with God in all they do and to discover their identity in Christ. I've spent quite a lot of time with her in the last month, and I know she's excited about joining this team and this community.
Before being offered the position, Samantha also spent time with our Wardens, WPC staff, our amazing nursery staff, as well as a committee of parents, kids, and others who are invested in the formation of our children and youth. It was clear as she met with some of our kids and parents that connecting with people of all ages comes naturally to her.
I hope that you'll help me welcome Samantha in a few weeks as her time with us begins. She'll need help from all of us in this busy season as we begin our year together. We'll work on some opportunities for you to meet and talk with Samantha. I look forward to the gifts that she'll bring us, and I know that she will be blessed to be a part of this rare and gifted community.
More information will come soon from Samantha, Nate, and Julie. Thank you for being patient this summer as we looked for the right person. She'll be here soon! And until then, please don't hesitate to be in touch with me if you have any questions or if I can help in any way. In two weeks, we'll be welcoming Samantha and moving into a wonderful new year.
Faithfully,
--Marissa +
