The Rev. Mary Grace Williams has been the rector of St. Matthew’s Church since 2002. Prior to coming to Wilton, she was Rector of St. John the Evangelist Church, Flossmoor, IL; Asst Rector of St. Peter’s, Kansas City, MO; and Staff Chaplain of St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital, Kansas City, MO. She holds a BA in Theatre Arts from Douglass College, Rutgers University; a MA in Religious Education from Fordham University and a M.Div. from Yale Divinity School. The Rev. Williams has two daughters, Grace and Kate, who were born in Wuhan, China.![]() |
The Rev. Richard E. Mayberry is part time associate rector of St. Matthew's. Born in California and raised in Oregon, Richard earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Oregon. Following that he went on to receive his Master of Divinity degree from General Theological Seminary in New York City. After graduation, he became the curate at St. Mark's Church in Mt. Kisco, NY. In 1978, he was elected rector of St. Francis Church in Stamford, CT and served there as rector for thirty years, retiring in 2008. Before coming to St. Matthew's, he moved to Southport, CT where he served as a retired assisting priest at St. Paul's, Fairfield, CT. He is also an avid collector of vintage Fiesta pottery. |

Rodney Ayers has been Director of Music and Organist at St. Matthew’s Church since August of 1993. While in high school in Eden, North Carolina, Rodney served as organist/choir director at the Church of the Epiphany (Episcopal) – it was through this experience that Rodney was led to pursue a full time vocation as a church musician. He has held other positions at St. Francis’ Episcopal Church in Stamford, Connecticut and Trinity Church in Princeton, New Jersey. Rodney holds the Master of Music and Master of Arts in Religion degrees from the Yale University School of Music, Yale Divinity School, and Yale Institute of Sacred Music. He earned his Bachelor of Music degree from Westminster Choir College. Rodney is married to Vince Edwards who is also a church musician. |
Becky Hudspeth has been the Church School Coordinator for St. Matthew's since 1995, working closely with her Presbyterian counterpart, Sheri Richards. She enjoys working with children and youth in a variety of additional programs including Confirmation Class, the 7th/8th grade Youth Group and the after-school program for Boys and Girls Choir members. She is a graduate of Smith College and has her Master's degree in Special Education from the University of Southern Connecticut. She thrives in her job because it allows her to combine her faith and her love of teaching.
