Parish Life at St. Matthews

Parish Life at St. Matthew’s seeks to encourage the growth of a Christian faith community that nurtures and provides for its member’s social and spiritual fellowship needs. The opportunities range from involvement in Sunday service to weekly and annual fellowship events. All the events are planned and hosted by parishioner volunteers who serve on the Parish Life Committee.
Sunday Coffee Fellowship
This important ministry of hospitality and fellowship for our visitors and newcomers as well as parishioners is hosted by various parish families each Sunday following 10:00 a.m. Eucharist.
Joint Brunches with the Wilton Presbyterian Church
Several times a year we enjoy the opportunity to gather with our Presbyterian Brothers and Sisters following the 10:00 a.m. Eucharist at a shared coffee hour and brunch.
St Matthew’s Picnic
The whole parish turns out in shorts and sun hats for our annual cook-out traditionally held in the church courtyard. Children’s games, BBQ and great company make this a popular St. Matthew’s tradition.
Lobster & Clambake
This adult event is held in September.
St. Matthew’s Auction
The themed annual auction joins fabulous food, comraderie and the thrill of winning donated items. While it is one of St. Matthew's most enjoyed events, it also significant in that it helps to fund St. Matthew’s many programs. Members share laughs as they bid on items such as fellowship dinners, wine, jewelry, children’s books, and even vacation homes.
